The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the Law

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the Law "On Ratification of the Memorandum on Mutual Understanding between Ukrainian Government and the Council of Europe regarding Establishment of the Council of Europe Office in Ukraine and its Legal Status"

Ratification of the Memorandum will initiate new institutional form of cooperation between Ukraine and the Council of Europe, since the Council of Europe Office will be established in Kyiv, and will be responsible for coordination of the programs of the said Organization.

Inter alia, the Memorandum defines the duties of a Representative of the Council of Europe Secretary General in charge of coordination of the EC programs.

A relevant Bill (Reg. No.0038) was registered in The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on 06.03.2008.
