The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the Law "On Organization and Activity of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine" (№246-VI) on 8 April 2008. The President of Ukraine failed to uphold the Law, and returned it for the repeated consideration.
However, the Committee fails to uphold the motion of the President of Ukraine concerning rejection of the said Law. The People´s Deputies believe that "systematic study of constitutional regulations does not render the grounds for the conclusion that the Standing Orders of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine are to be adopted as a Law, or legislatively approved".
