Arseniy Yatseniuk, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, called for commemorating the victims of the Holocaust.

Today Israel celebrates the Holocaust Martyrs' and Heroes' Remembrance Day.

Arseniy Yatseniuk, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, delivered an address to the Ukrainians. The address of the Chairman of the Ukrainian Parliament runs as follows:

"Until human memory is alive, the tragedy of Holocaust is to be remembered with shame and horror. The humanity can not forget the millions of innocent Jews and representatives of other minorities, men, women and children who were murdered by gruesome atrocity.

The humanity can not forget that Nazi death camps originated in hatred, prejudices and anti-Semitism. Remembering the sources of evil, it should prevent any attempts to inflame hatred and international hostility. Memory of Holocaust is of vital importance, so that our children would never become victims or indifferent observers of hostility outbreaks. Today, when Holocaust becomes a thing of the past, modern generation should protect the memory and defend human dignity.

Ukrainians who suffered Holocaust of 1932-1933 years and were afflicted with anguish of genocide will always preserve their memory of the Jews who perished in the period of the World War II".
