At the meeting, the Parties discussed the situation related to the actions of the leaders of Abkhazia and South Ossetia. Thus, Merab Antadze stated that in response to the attempts of actual annexation, the government of Georgia will adhere to the principles of protection of State sovereignty and borders, and peaceful regulation of the situation.
The Parties also dwelled upon holding of early parliamentary election in Georgia in May 2008. The Committee Chairman informed the Ambassador of Georgia that Ukraine will send a group of the People´s Deputies of Ukraine to observe the election.
The parties also discussed the prospects of economic development and cooperation.
