The amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine touching decentralization do not envision provision of autonomy, federalization or special status to Donbas.
Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada Volodymyr Groysman has told this to the Rada TV channel.
"I call on everybody, please take these decentralization amendments to the Constitution, read Item 18 and find at least a word on any special status of Donbas," Groysman said.
The Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada noted that the constitutional amendments allow elected authorities to be effective in working and development of their communities. Instead the implementation of the reform is slowed down by different speculations and hoaxes touching the constitutional amendments.
Groysman also reminded that recently, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine approved the amendments to the parliamentary regulations, having given additional time for the discussion of amendments to the Constitution touching decentralization.
Against this background, the Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada called on people's deputies to have a constructive dialogue on the constitutional amendments and decentralization reform. "This Constitution will finally make Ukraine a European country, and we have to move on," he noted.
