In his speech to the Era Radio station on Wednesday, Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada Volodymyr Groysman noted that everybody had to do their best to turn Ukraine into a real European state.

"Every election must bring in people able to act," the Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada said.

He also added that political newcomers must work hard not to settle existing, but to avoid emergence of any of them.

Asked about defects of recent election campaign, Groysman drew attention to low turnout of voters. "I can in no way agree with that. It is unacceptable when only 40% of voters come to polling stations," he said. "Of course we may be mistaken with our choice, but we have to elect those, whom we will ask to respond for their actions later," the Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada said.

In that context he noted that the key aspect is trust of the citizens, thus, every representative of local authorities must be responsible for his activity and fulfill his election promises.

The Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada called recent election "mainly stable."

Asked about different aspects of the decentralization reform, Groysman called the first positive results of that reform: "City budgets have considerably increased." In his words that allows those cities to allocate required funds to develop their infrastructure.

Groysman also pointed out the importance of unification of territorial communities to facilitate their development.
