The results of reforms in the sectors of security and defense of Ukraine depend on the efficiency of work of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

First Deputy Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada Andrii Parubii said this at a working meeting with Ambassador Thrasyvoulos Terry Stamatopoulos, NATO's Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and Security Policy on Wednesday, May 27.

The parties exchanged opinions as to the situation in the security and defense sectors of Ukraine, confirmed prospects of Ukraine-NATO cooperation, pointed out the necessity for improvement of the collective security system on the European continent taking in account aggressive and provocative actions of the Russian Federation both inside and outside of Ukraine.

Participants of the meeting also were Radoslava Stefanova, the Head of Russia and Ukraine Relations in the Political Affairs and Security Policy Division of NATO, and Marcin Koziel, Head of NATO Liaison Office in Ukraine.
