Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman planted a tree in the enclosed court of the Ukrainian Parliament on the occasion of the Day of Environment on Wednesday, April 15.
Groysman called the event “a good tradition,” noting that it should further be supported. “That is about memory, that is symbolic,” he said.
The Head of the Verkhovna Rada noted that plants in settlements are often “unfoundedly eliminated in purposes of construction” and pointed to importance of protection of plants.
According to Groysman, such task should be of top-priority for local governments and be supported at the legislative level.
