At the March 4 meeting, the Committee members considered Presidential bill as urgent for extraordinary consideration by the Verkhovna Rada.
The bill (Reg. No. 2187) suggests amending article 73 of the Labour Code of Ukraine, having stipulated introduction of a new holiday of the Defender of Ukraine Day on October 14.
The Committee members believe that introducing a new holiday of the Defender of Ukraine Day will show respect and honourable attitude of the state to people who defend the territorial integrity, sovereignty and other national values.
People's deputies also claimed that implementation of this bill will require additional budget expenses for compensating working hours of this day.
