The Committee emphasizes that the Action plan on implementation of the Concept
of the Reform of Local Self-Government and Territorial Organization of
Government in Ukraine, approved by the Decree
of the Cabinet of Ministers of 18/06/2014 No. 591-р., stipulates elaboration of a
new version of the Law “On Bodies of Local Self-Government”. In connection with
this, the Committee plans to hold a round table discussion entitled: “On the
ways to refine legislation on bodies of population self-organization”,
scheduled for May, 2015.

The event will be carried out jointly with the Ministry of Regional Development, Construction and Housing and Communal Services, the European Council Programme “Strengthening the Capacity of Local Authorities in Ukraine”, as well as All-Ukrainian associations of local authorities and other partners.
The Committee plans to receive the respective information from bodies of local self-government and local executive authorities prior to April 1, 2015, whereat the subcommittee on population self-organization, local elections and other forms of direct democracy will elaborate and generalize it.
