News 2 - The Committee on Agrarian Policy and Land Relations recommends that the Parliament should adopt as a basis the bill on amendments to the Law of Ukraine “On Plant Quarantine” (re reforming the system of state regulation in the sphere of plant quarantine and bringing phytosanitary measures in line with international standards and commitments) - Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine

The Committee on Agrarian Policy and Land Relations recommends that the Parliament should adopt as a basis the bill on amendments to the Law of Ukraine “On Plant Quarantine” (re reforming the system of state regulation in the sphere of plant quarantine and bringing phytosanitary measures in line with international standards and commitments)

The bill (Reg. No. 1875) suggests:

limiting time period for issuing quarantine and phytosanitary certificates to 24 hours after the transportation vehicle has been loaded up;

introducing several lists of controlled plants for import, export and re-export, as well as establishing control over the movement across the territory of Ukraine;

establishing free access to information on the Internet webpage of the central body of executive power implementing state policy in the sphere of plant quarantine;

introducing a declarative principle for registration of persons exercising economic activity connected with production and circulation of controlled plants; etc.
