The meeting was dedicated to discussing conflict in the East of Ukraine; establishing the ceasefire regime; discussing peaceful ways of further settlement of the situation; as well as the necessity of resolving the problem of refugees and temporary displaced persons.
Fierce fighting in the region of Debaltsevo, conducted by Russian-supported terrorists, testifies that Minsk agreements, unfortunately, did not result in complete ceasefire, the Parties agreed.
Ukrainian deputies stated that economic and political sanctions imposed on the Russian Federation by the international community, apparently, had no noticeable effect. In connection with this, they stressed the necessity of both significant broadening of these sanctions and urgent increase of real assistance to Ukraine.
The soonest possible establishment of efficient and effective control over the entire Ukrainian borderline was determined to be one of the key preconditions for launching the peace process and preventing further escalation of the armed conflict.
