The meeting was held before 14th winter session of OSCE PA, which will be held on February 18-20 in Vienna (Austrian Republic).

The Parties discussed the issue on mandate, tasks and activity of the OSCE special monitoring mission. 

Chief Monitor of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine Ertugrul Apakan informed about the composition and key principles of Mission's work. He claimed that this Mission actively monitors the situation with internally displaced persons, national and religious minorities and coordinates its actions with specialized OSCE institutions; it also cooperates with UNO, Council of Europe, and other international organizations.

Special attention was paid to the issue of OSCE monitoring checkpoints of Ukrainian-Russian border. It was also stressed there is a need to expand a mandate of OSCE Monitoring Mission at Russian checkpoints "Hukovo" and "Donetsk" and to continue monitoring the ceasefire and the situation at the territory of Ukrainian-Russian border.

At the end of the meeting, representatives of the Committee, members of the Verkhovna Rada Standing delegation in OSCE PA thanked for Mission's work in the East of Ukraine and stressed the Parliament's readiness to cooperate with OSCE Special Monitoring Mission.
