Chairperson of the Committee Liliia Hrynevych reminded that during the
previous meeting some positions on new approaches to science management and
funding were adjusted. The Committee addressed members of the working group
with a proposal to focus today specifically on discussing bodies of management
and finance in science, as well as on ensuring efficiency and transparency of
their work. “Our task lies in changing the system of science management and funding so that it could contribute to the development of scientific sphere in Ukraine, and enhance its efficiency for country’s economic growth,” noted the Committee Chairperson.
Members of the working group discussed activity of the National Science and
Technology Council and that of the National foundation for research, registry of
research study and registry of scientific research results. Deputy Minister of Science and Education Maksym Strikha; Vice President of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Anatolii Zahorodnii; deputy of Kyiv city council, head of the permanent commission on education, science, and innovation policy Nataliia Shulha; representatives of NGOs; young scientists and other persons concerned were in attendance at the meeting.
