Life-sustaining activities of Eastern region were considered during the meeting. In particular, problematic issues pertaining to functioning of transport complex of Donetsk Oblast and possible ways to settle them at state and legislative levels.
The issues of railway transportation of coal products and maintenance of reliable work of Vuhlehirsk heat power plant were also discussed.
The issue of operation of Donetsk railway provoked wide-ranging discussion.
Leadership of State Agency of Automobile Roads (Ukravtodor) provided information about the scope of damage to roads of general use as a result of ATO on the territory of Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts. Representatives of “Ukrzaliznytsia” reported on the progress of work connected with rehabilitation of infrastructure of Donetsk railway. Leadership of the Ministry of Infrastructure provided their suggestions in regard to the draft decision on operation of transport sphere and road complex of Donetsk Oblast, and rehabilitation of transport infrastructure of the region.
The draft decision noted the need for establishment of Interdepartmental commission on matters of functioning of transport, as well as fuel and energy complexes; as well as rehabilitation of transport infrastructure of Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts in conditions of anti-terrorist operation with participation of the people’s deputies and representatives of central bodies of executive power.
During its meeting on December 28, 2014, the Committee on Transport approved the decision that was taken during the visiting session on 27/12/2014 “Operation of transport sphere and road complex of Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts in conditions of ATO, and prospects of rehabilitation of transport infrastructure” in the city of Kramatorsk with consideration of proposals and remarks of Committee members.
Committee’s decision was referred to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, Ministry of Infrastructure, central bodies of executive power and Donetsk Oblast State Administration.
