During its meeting on December 27, Committee members considered the bill (Reg. No. 1656), referred by the President of Ukraine and determined as an urgent one for consideration by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
The bill suggests laying legal foundation for carrying out judicial reform that would secure efficient protection of citizens’ rights and freedoms, as well as interests of legal bodies in a legal procedure and practical implementation of the right to fair trial.
The document suggests a new version of the Law “On the Court Procedure and the Status of Judges”. Under the bill, the respective amendments shall be made to the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Infringements, Economic Procedure Code, Civil Procedure Code, the Code of Administrative Proceedings, Criminal Procedure Code, and the laws “On the Higher Council of Justice”, “On Access to Court Judgments” and “On Court Fee”.
The bill also suggests amending the Law “On the Rules of Procedure of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine”.
