As it was mentioned during the discussion, the bill (Reg. No. 1357-1) suggests amending current law in order to grant the Cabinet of Minister the right to create a legal entity of public law "Public Television" and a legal entity of public law "Public Radio". Moreover, the bill includes a provision on the right of local self-government authorities to establish public regional television and radio broadcasting on the basis of oblast television companies.
The Committee members took into consideration the conclusion of the Central Scientific Experts Office of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Secretariat.
It was stressed that the Committee decided to recommend that the Parliament adopt as a basis the alternative bill on amendments to several laws of Ukraine on public television and radio broadcasting of Ukraine (Reg. No. 1357).
