The Committee on Legislative Support of law-Enforcement recommends that the Verkhovna Rada should adopt as a basis the draft law on amendments to several legislative acts of Ukraine re application of punishment in the form of life imprisonment

According to him, the bill (Reg. No. 1218) stipulates amendments to the Criminal Code (hereinafter – CC) and the Criminal Executive Code (hereinafter – CEC) with a view to regulate incarceration conditions of the detained, and serving a sentence by those sentenced to detention and temporary or life imprisonment.

Committee members expressed remarks to the bill.

Following the results of discussion, people’s deputies took the decision to recommend the Verkhovna Rada adopt the bill as a basis with consideration of the proposals made.
