Clause 42 of section 1 of the bill registered under No. 1577 suggests
making amendments to the Law of Ukraine “On the Status and Social Protection of
Citizens who Suffered as a result of Chornobyl Catastrophe” adoption of which
will narrow the rights of the citizens who suffered as a result of Chornobyl
catastrophe to receive privileges, compensations and assistance of certain
kinds. The document suggests abolishing all kinds of privileges and compensations for the citizens in category 4.
Following the results of consideration of the bill, the decision was taken to recommend exclude clause 42 of section 1 of the Law “On the Status and Social Protection of Citizens who Suffered as a result of Chornobyl Catastrophe” from the text of the bill as the one that narrows the content and scope of the existing rights of citizens who suffered in the result of Chornobyl catastrophe. The Committee recommends also exclude clause 50 of section 1 of the law on amendments to the Law “On the Legal Regime on the Territory that Suffered from Radioactive Contamination as a result of Chornobyl Catastrophe.”
