The inter-faction union "Maidan Self-Defence", chaired by First Deputy Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada Andrii Parubii, was established today in the Verkhovna Rada.
The union's main tasks are reforming the system of national security, creating legislative mechanisms of corruption counteraction, promoting Ukraine's integration to the EU and NATO, and helping participants of the war in the East of Ukraine.
"A lot of our fellowmen returned from the front line and know what reforms our army and our front line need. Our key task is reforming the whole law-enforcement sphere and national security of Ukraine", said Andrii Parubii during the briefing in the Verkhovna Rada.
"By decreasing the level of corruption, by building a system of national security included into the Euro-Atlantic space, we will create external and internal foundation on which we will build new effective European Ukraine and implement requirements of the Revolution of Dignity", the statement of people's deputies reads.
16 people's deputies have been included into this union: Andrii Parubii, Tetiana Chornovol, Andrii Levus, Mykola Velychkovych, Serhii Vysotskyi, Mykhailo Bondar, Yurii Tymoshenko, Ihor Lapin, Volodymyr Soliar, Olena Masorina, Oleh Medunytsia, Yevhen Deidei, Mykhailo Havryliuk, Bohdan Matkivskyi, Andrii Antonyshchak, and Ihor Artiushenko.
