The document shall be elaborated pursuant to the respective Decree of the President of Ukraine.
In words of the Government commissioner for European Court of Human Rights Nataliia Sevostianova, the National Strategy for 2015-2020 shall be elaborated by January 1, 2015.
At the same time, Chairperson of the Committee reminded about the joint letter of human rights organizations of December 5, 2014 addressed to the President of Ukraine on postponing the date of strategy's elaboration in order to take into consideration experience and stand of as many segments of the population and NGOs as possible.
Expert of the Ukrainian Center for Independent Political Research Yuliia Tyshchenko suggested including into the strategy problematic groups of human rights, particularly, rights of national minorities and indigenous peoples.
Following the results of the discussion, the Committee members decided to:
take into account the state of Strategy's elaboration;
uphold the address of human rights organizations to the President;
consider appropriate for the Verkhovna Rada to adopt the Strategy.
