Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, believes that the Parliament´s resolution to support nomination of Viktor Pshonka to the office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine is logical and impartial.
V.Lytvyn stated that "almost the constitutional majority of The Verkhovna Rada" endorsed the Decree of the President of Ukraine. He believes that the resolution of the Head of State "is logical and impartial, as the respective resolution of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine."
Asked what should be expected from the Prosecutor General, V.Lytvyn responded, "One should expect reforms of the prosecution bodies on the legislative level, and amendments to the Law on the prosecution in view of the Ukraine´s commitments to the Council of Europe."
V.Lytvyn also declared that V. Pshonka "is also expected to consolidate the rule of law."
