During the Meeting, John Tanner revealed interest in the political situation in our country, further President´s Elections, perspectives in cooperation with the International Monetary Fund, cooperation with NATO etc.
B. Tarasiuk informed foreign guests on the political situation in the country.
He stressed that the Verkhovna Rada has defined the date of the next President´s Elections and this date is 25th of October 2009.
Concerning the cooperation with the NATO, the chairman of the Committee stressed that the entrance of Ukraine into the Alliance is legislatively and juridical determined task of our state from the year 2003.According to him, the people support of this process that now (is at the rate of 25-30%) could not be crucial for its solving.
The Chairman of the constant Delegation in NATO PA, Andriy Shkil announced that 23 from the 40 Law initiated by the Government were adopted by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. A. Shkil reminded that the International Monetary Fund mission returns to Ukraine "and during this week negotiations on the second tranche should be held". Also he emphasized on the necessity of the introduction of the amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine.
The NATO PA President informed the Ukrainian Part on the results of the last jubilee summit of the Alliance.
