The Committee on the Rule of Law and Justice recommends that the Parliament should recommit the draft law on amendments to the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine (re conducting interrogation)

The draft law (Reg. No. 3037) aims at increasing efficiency of pre-trial investigation; maintaining objectivity of such investigatory action as interrogation; and refining the mechanism of observation of rights of a person and citizen by all participants of criminal proceedings.

The people’s deputies attached attention to the fact that the Central Scientific Experts Office of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Secretariat voiced out several remarks and proposals to the bill and suggested recommit it.

Apart from this, parliamentarians stressed that the Ministry of Justice and subject matter experts of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine do not uphold this bill.
