It was mentioned during the April 9 meeting that the aim of the bill (Reg. No. 4081) is to increase the level of social protection of war veterans, including peacekeeping soldiers and their family members.
Particularly, the bill suggests:
- grant the right to give parents, wives (husbands) who did not get married for the second time, under-aged children of the deceased disabled veterans, combatants, partisans, undergrounders, war veterans, regardless of them having state awards and acknowledging them as persons with disabilities, the status of “a person, the Law of Ukraine “On the Status of War Veterans and Guarantees of their Social Protection” applies to”;
- grant the right to combatants, disabled veterans and war veterans to receive additional 14 days per year leave with pay;
- specify conditions for establishing the status of a combatant, particularly, regarding establishing such status for persons who during combat actions were engaged in demining fields and objects of national economy, and persons who during combat actions, on minesweepers, participated in sweeping high-explosive mines placed in territorial and neutral waters.
Moreover, the bill suggests amend the Law “On Humanitarian Aid”.
