The Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine reports that Italy will provide funding for the restoration of key cultural heritage sites in the Odesa region damaged as a result of the armed aggression by the russian federation. The sites include nationally significant monuments managed by the Odesa Regional Military Administration and the Odesa City Council.
Following the signing of the agreement, the funds will be directed to the restoration of six architectural monuments in Odesa:
1. Odesa National Art Museum;
2. Odesa Museum of Western and Eastern Art;
3. Odesa Regional Philharmonic named after David Oistrakh;
4. Odesa Literary Museum;
5. Sontag House;
6. Wedding Palace.
The project involves comprehensive restoration works, enhancing building safety and energy efficiency, adapting facilities to the needs of people with reduced mobility, and upgrading engineering infrastructure.
The agreement on the «Restoration and Preservation of the Cultural Heritage of the Odesa Region» program was signed on July 10 in Rome during the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC2025).
