In her speech at the session dedicated to the implementation of the priorities of the Polish Presidency of the Council of the EU, Ivanna Klympush-Tsyntsadze thanked Poland, its government, parliament and people for their unwavering support and leadership in supporting Ukraine. «When Poland assumed the presidency of the European Union, Ukraine saw it as an impetus for a powerful continuation of this leadership. And the focus and priorities of the Polish presidency reflected not only the EU agenda, but also the reality and aspirations of Ukraine,» said the Chairperson of the Committee on Ukraine's Integration into the EU.
Ivanna Klympush-Tsyntsadze noted that Poland has set an example in the clarity of its threat assessment and understanding of the necessary actions: «Your determination to strengthen Europe's security and defence architecture and energy resilience is inseparable from our fight for freedom, independence, sovereignty and peace. And we understand and appreciate that thanks to all your efforts, we are not alone.»
At the same time, the Chairperson of the Committee stressed the need to maintain stability and predictability of continuous military support for Ukraine, as well as strengthening sanctions against the russian federation. «Because we understand that russia cannot be persuaded to peace, russia can only be brought to peace by force. Now, unfortunately, the so-called ‘negotiations’ that are taking place between russia and Ukraine do not lead even close to a ceasefire, let alone real peace and stability on the continent. That is why russia, unfortunately, uses this process as a pretext, as a smokescreen, to continue destroying our nation, our people,» said Ivanna Klympush-Tsyntsadze. She expressed hope that Poland's priorities and further support for Ukraine would remain unchanged. «With your help, we will be able to defeat evil. Let's do it together,» said the Chairperson of the Committee on Ukraine's Integration into the EU.
