On May 14, 2025, Oleksandr Merezhko, Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Policy and Interparliamentary Cooperation, held a meeting via videoconference with Søreide Ine Eriksen, Chairwoman of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defence of the Norwegian Parliament, along with members of the Committee.
uring the meeting, the interlocutors discussed current developments in global politics, the security situation in Ukraine, prospects for a ceasefire, the need to strengthen comprehensive assistance to Ukraine in repelling the armed aggression of the russian federation, and the provision of effective security guarantees, as well as the prospects for Ukraine’s accession to the EU and NATO.
Special attention was given to the discussion of Ukrainian-Norwegian cooperation and interparliamentary dialogue, particularly the importance of Ukraine’s participation in activities within the framework of the Northern Future Forum (NB8).
Chairman of the Committee Oleksandr Merezhko expressed gratitude to the Norwegian colleagues for their support and emphasized the importance of Ukraine’s expedited accession to the European Union and NATO.
