On May 15, Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Policy and Interparliamentary Cooperation Oleksandr Merezhko held a meeting with a delegation of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, headed by Chairman of the Committee on Security Pavel Zacek

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current security and humanitarian situation in Ukraine, initiatives for a peaceful settlement and prospects for a ceasefire, the need to enhance comprehensive assistance to Ukraine in resisting the armed aggression of the russian federation, and the provision of effective security guarantees. They also addressed the issues of war crimes, crimes against humanity, and the crime of genocide against the Ukrainian people, as well as the decision of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe to initiate the establishment of an international tribunal to investigate the crime of aggression against Ukraine.

Special attention was also given to the discussion of Ukraine’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration, the prospects of Ukraine’s accession to the EU, and the development of Ukrainian-Czech cooperation, particularly at the parliamentary level.

Chairman of the Committee Oleksandr Merezhko expressed his gratitude to his Czech counterpart for the continued support and emphasized that Ukraine’s accession to the European Union and NATO is a key factor in ensuring regional security.
