This was stated by David Arakhamia, MP, Chairman of the Sluha Narodu (Servant of the People) parliamentary faction, member of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security, Defence and Intelligence.
«The agreement was supported by 338 MPs. This is a constitutional majority. The agreement was supported by all factions and groups, as everyone understands the importance of not only economic partnership with the United States, but also security partnership. After ratification, we will move on to the second stage, where our government negotiators will complete the process of agreeing on and signing two other technical agreements concerning the regulations of the fund. We are talking about establishing a joint institution that will decide the fate of investment projects financed by this fund in a 3-on-3 format (representatives of both countries - ed.). The fund will also need to open accounts with our banks. We hope that by autumn the fund will be formed and will start working», David Arakhamia noted .
According to him, the strengthening of economic cooperation between Ukraine and the United States does not go unnoticed by influential investors.
«The mere news that we have signed and are ratifying an agreement with the United States has aroused some interest and concern among investors, including British, French and a number of other countries. They see this agreement as a long-term bet by the United States on economic cooperation with Ukraine,» the MP said.
