On February 4, 2025, the Committee held a regular meeting to review the Euro integration draft Law of Ukraine on the timber market, prepared for its second reading. The meeting included representatives from the government, central and local authorities, the woodworking and logging industries, relevant organizations, experts, and other stakeholders.
The draft law on the timber market establishes the legal, economic, and organizational principles for selling unprocessed timber and fuelwood. Its goal is to meet the needs of market participants based on free and fair competition and sustainable use of forest resources. After discussions, the Committee members recommended that the Verkhovna Rada adopt the draft law in its entirety during the second reading.
Additionally, the Committee decided to hold an off-site roundtable meeting in February 2025 titled “Made in Ukraine - Zhytomyr Region 2025,” as well as Committee hearings on “Results of the Implementation of Ukraine’s Plan for the Ukraine Facility in 2024 and Plans for 2025.”
