Members of the Committee participated in the inaugural meeting of the sectoral working group "Law Enforcement," co-chaired by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and the European Union Advisory Mission in Ukraine (EUAM Ukraine).

The event was attended by the heads of over 30 partner countries' embassies in Ukraine, heads of international organizations' missions, leaders of units within the Ministry of Internal Affairs system, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, the Office of the Prosecutor General, the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU), the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI), and the State Customs Service of Ukraine.

The sectoral working group "Law Enforcement" aims to establish a platform for:

- Coordinating the interaction of Ukraine's security sector bodies with international partners to enhance the effectiveness of implementing strategic sectoral reforms;

- Uniting efforts for international support amid the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by the russian federation;

- Developing international cooperation in the long term.

During the meeting, thematic subgroups of the sectoral working group were presented. These subgroups will focus on four strategic areas:

* Strengthening emergency response,

* Combating crime and ensuring community safety,

* Border security,

* Reconstruction – recovery – accessibility.

An overview of the security situation in the country and the strategic priorities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (security sector bodies) during the war was also presented, aiming to expand the scope of support and international assistance.
