“The visit to Ukraine by U.S. Senators Lindsey Graham (R) and Richard Blumenthal (D) is another clear confirmation of bipartisan support for Ukraine in the United States. Congressmen and senators from both parties support Ukraine's request to lift restrictions on the use of long-range weapons provided to us,” said Yehor Chernev, the Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defence and Intelligence, Head of the Permanent Delegation of Ukraine to the NATO PA.

“Our parliamentary delegation has recently returned from the United States, where we had many meetings with senators and congressmen from both Republicans and Democrats. All those we met with support our request to the US to lift the arms embargo. In addition, we talked about providing other types of long-range weapons, which we do not yet have, but they are definitely in stock in the United States,” the politician said.

According to him, the final decision is made not in the Congress, but in the White House, which can be influenced by congressmen. “We have asked to write letters to the White House and the Pentagon right now to change the Administration's position. I think that, given the current situation in the kursk region and the absence of any escalation on the part of russia, we are close to lifting the restrictions and receiving other types of long-range weapons. We are conducting such operations to prevent russia from shooting at Ukraine,” the MP said.

Yehor Chernev added that after receiving the F-16 aircraft, it is important to have long-range missiles for them, which the United States and our European partners have, as well as to speed up the provision of aid packages.
