Despite the missile attacks and terrorist shelling by russia, farmers work every day to ensure food security, the Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy reports.
Thus, according to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, as of the beginning of August, 25291.8 million tonnes of grain and over 3236.3 million tonnes of oilseeds have already been harvested. In total, the new harvest has been threshed on an area of over 7,301.6 thousand hectares, yielding 28,528.1 thousand tonnes.
Agrarians in Poltava, Odesa, Kherson, Kropyvnytskyi and Cherkasy regions have completed harvesting early grains and pulses.
As of today, they have harvested:
wheat – threshed on an area of 4465.8 thou hectares, harvested 19440.7 thou tonnes
barley – 1,294.1 thousand hectares were harvested, with a harvest of 4,819.8 million tonnes
peas – 205.7 thou hectares were harvested, yielding 451.6 thou tonnes.
rapeseed – 1,195.5 thou hectares were harvested, with a harvest of 3,236.3 million tonnes.
Grain harvesting is led by farmers in Odesa region, where 1064.9 thou hectares were threshed. Khmelnytskyi region is the leader in terms of yields, with 65 centners per hectare.
Farmers in Dnipro, Kharkiv and Kherson regions have started harvesting buckwheat and millet.
