This week, the Representative of the President of Ukraine in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine / Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Law Enforcement Halyna Mykhailiuk, together with representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Police of Ukraine and the Patrol Police of Ukraine, is taking part in the National School Safety Conference in Phoenix, Arizona, USA.
Over 2000 participants will engage in substantive consultations with American experts on how to create a safe environment during the educational process and respond to possible threats.
The main topics of discussion will include
- specifics of the work of school security officers;
- practical training on safe behaviour in emergency situations for students, teachers and administration of educational institutions;
- development of a safety culture in schools.
Pointing to the priority of the issue of security in educational institutions in times of war, Halyna Mykhailyuk noted that the key task of the Ukrainian delegation at the conference is to study the American experience in this area and the possibilities of implementing best practices in the Ukrainian system.
