‘The World Bank is a reliable partner of Ukraine and, without exaggeration, a friend. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the World Bank has provided Ukraine with more than $ 2 billion in direct budget support and is among the top 7 largest donors to the Ukrainian budget over the years,’ said Roksolana Pidlasa.
She also noted that during the meeting they discussed the 2025 budget. ‘I expressed my hope that the World Bank would become the manager of the $50 billion confiscated from russia and that at least part of these funds would become budgetary macro-financial assistance.
We also talked about the reforms the World Bank is focusing on in 2024:
- Medium-term budget planning for local budgets (draft law No. 11131 is already ready for consideration in the session hall),
- New law ‘On railway transport’
- the draft law ‘On Rating’ (by the way, I am the initiator of draft law No. 5819) and several others,’ said the Chairman of the Committee on Budget.
