The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted in the second reading the draft law No. 10265, which provides for the creation of a single roaming zone with the European Union on the principle of ‘Roam-Like-At-Home’.
This was stated by the MP, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Digital Transformation Serhii Shtepa.
“After signing this draft law and completing all procedures with the European Union, Ukrainians staying in the EU will be able to use roaming services at home national tariffs without paying extra for roaming services. Similarly, travellers from Europe who will be in Ukraine will be able to use communication services at their national tariffs,” the politician explained.
According to him, this is a very important step for Ukraine's European integration, as a single digital market with the EU is being created.
“In addition, this approach will significantly improve the investment climate in Ukraine. Our mobile operators will be able to cooperate with their European counterparts on the same principles and standards. I am convinced that this will have a positive impact on the economic situation in Ukraine,” the MP said.
