On 23 May 2024, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Foreign Policy and Interparliamentary Cooperation Oleksandr Merezhko met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Ukraine Levent Bilgen.
The interlocutors discussed important issues of bilateral cooperation, in particular, the prospects for the entry into force of the Free Trade Agreement between Ukraine and the Republic of Turkey.
Particular attention was paid to the support of the Ukrainian peace formula by foreign countries, the provision of financial and economic assistance to Ukraine, Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic integration and support for our country's accession to NATO, as well as the strengthening of political dialogue and interparliamentary cooperation, including the participation of Turkish representatives in events initiated by Ukraine.
The Committee Chairman Oleksandr Merezhko expressed his gratitude for the comprehensive support and assistance and stressed the importance of the strategic partnership between Ukraine and the Republic of Turkey.
