Ukraine has received the first tranche of €4.5 billion of transitional funding from the European Union under the Ukraine Facility programme. In total, about $9 billion is expected to be received from partners this month.

This was announced by Roksolana Pidlasa, the MP, Chair of the Parliamentary Committee on Budget.

“We have received the first transitional financing, which is provided without any conditions to maintain our macro-financial stability and fulfil our obligations to the citizens of Ukraine. This €4.5 billion will be used for all non-military expenditures. There have been no significant delays in this quarter, which has been the most financially challenging since the full-scale invasion. So, when we receive about $9 billion in aid from various international partners at the end of March, we can say for sure that the situation will be stable,” the MP said.

She reminded that EUR 4.5 billion is part of the funds under the Ukraine Facility programme totalling EUR 50 billion.

“It is planned that EUR 38.3 billion will be allocated to the state budget. In particular, this year we will receive €16 billion. We use international aid for social payments, salaries for teachers and doctors, and to compensate Ukrainians for destroyed or damaged housing as a result of russian aggression,” the MP stressed.
