The current so-called election of the president of russia cannot be called an election, because power has been usurped, the opposition has been destroyed, there is no freedom of speech, freedom of choice, etc. Therefore, the world's leading democratic countries should not recognise the results of these "elections" and putin's upcoming assumption of office.

This was stated by Arsenii Pushkarenko, the MP, Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Policy and Interparliamentary Cooperation.

“I am convinced that a number of countries and international unions and organisations, including the EU, UN, PACE, OSCE, etc., which, in particular, are responsible for monitoring the standards of elections and their democracy, no longer recognise the results of these 'elections' and putin's upcoming assumption of a new term of office. Last year, the PACE adopted a resolution calling on governments, parliaments, and international organisations to recognise these elections as illegitimate and putin as an illegitimate president, just as they are doing with lukashenko. Therefore, in future diplomatic relations, we should be guided by the fact that putin is an illegitimate president,” the politician said.

In his opinion, in the current situation, it is also necessary to raise the question of with whom Ukraine and its international partners will have to discuss the end of the war and the implementation of the Peace Formula.

“putin was absolutely illegitimately elected in illegitimate 'elections' that are also taking place in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, Georgia, and Japan in violation of all international legal norms. The European Parliament refused to give any assessment or comment on anything at all, because they do not consider it an election. Even if one of the MEPs wants to give his or her assessment, it will be his or her private opinion. I believe that after the pseudo-elections, putin's isolation will increase,” the MP stressed.
