On Monday, January 8, 2024, a meeting of the Committee on Anti-Corruption Policy was held via videoconference, chaired by the Chairman of the Committee Anastasiia Radina. According to the agenda, the meeting considered the issues of conducting an anti-corruption expertise of draft laws and submitting proposals for a candidate to the permanent delegation of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.

In addition to the members of the Committee, the meeting was attended by the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Nataliia Kalmykova and other representatives of the Ministry and the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Following the discussion of the draft laws, the Committee recognized the draft Law of Ukraine “On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine on Improving Certain Issues of Mobilization, Military Registration and Military Service” (No. 10378) as not meeting the requirements of anti-corruption legislation and two draft laws as meeting the requirements of anti-corruption legislation.

When deciding on the draft law reg. No. 10378, the Committee agreed with the need to improve the mobilization procedure. At the same time, it draws attention to the fact that citizens should be called up for military service during mobilization in a predictable, clearly defined manner, without abuse and corruption risks.

The Committee also submitted a proposal to the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to include Olena Moshenets, the MP, Deputy Chairman of the Committee, in the permanent delegation of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
