Ukrainian agrarians continue to work to ensure the food security of the state and the whole world, the Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy informs.
Thus, according to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, as of the last day of autumn, Ukrainian farmers harvested almost 77 mln tonnes of new crops: 56 mln 254.2 thsd tonnes of grains and 20 mln 719 thsd tonnes of oilseeds. Five regions of Ukraine have already completed the harvest. These are farmers in Vinnytsia, Kyiv, Odesa, Zaporizhzhia and Mykolaiv regions.
Grain and pulses were harvested on an area of 10,354 thou hectares with a yield of 54.3 centners per hectare, including
- corn was harvested on 3,441,000 ha at a yield of 75.8 centners per hectare, with a total harvest of 26,79,000 tonnes;
- wheat was harvested on 4,694.5 thousand hectares, yielding 47.9 centners per hectare, with a harvest of 22 million 478 thousand tonnes;
- barley was harvested on 1 504.5 thou hectares with a yield of 39.3 c/ha, with a harvest of 5 mln 909 thou tonnes;
- 154.4 thou hectares of peas were harvested at a yield of 25.9 c/ha, with a harvest of 399.5 thou tonnes;
- buckwheat was harvested on 139.7 thousand hectares at a yield of 14.8 c/ha, with a harvest of 207.4 thousand tonnes;
- millet was harvested on 79.5 thou hectares at a yield of 22.6 c/ha, with a harvest of 180 thou tonnes;
- other grains and pulses were harvested on 340.1 thou hectares, with a yield of 1,002 thou tonnes.
The leaders in grain harvest are farmers in Vinnytsia region, who harvested more than 5 million tonnes of grain. In Poltava and Cherkasy regions, farmers harvested 4 million tonnes of grain each.
Oilseeds were harvested on an area of 8,213 thou hectares, namely:
- sunflower was harvested on an area of 5,012.3 thou hectares, yielding 11 mln 936 thou tonnes of seeds at 23.8 c/ha;
- soybeans were harvested on an area of 1 804.2 thou hectares, with a yield of 4 mln 778 thou tonnes at 26.5 c/ha.
- rapeseed was harvested on the area of 1 396 thou hectares, with a yield of 4 mln 5 thou tonnes and a yield of 28.7 c/ha. The harvest is complete.
Sugar beet was dug up on an area of 242.1 thousand hectares, 11 million 332.6 thousand tonnes of sweet roots were harvested at a yield of 468.1 c/ha.
