The formation of an anti-corruption system in Ukraine has become a logical component of Ukraine's movement towards the EU and NATO. Today, our anti-corruption vertical consists of four bodies: The National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine, the Specialised Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office and the High Anti-Corruption Court. The activities of these bodies have recently received positive feedback from partners.

This was stated by Oleksii Leonov, the MP, member of the Parliamentary Committee on Taxation and Customs Policy.

"Ukraine has recently received positive assessments from its partners. In particular, during the NATO summit in Vilnius, progress in the fight against corruption was noted. U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken praised Ukraine in this regard, and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said that she saw really important steps in the fight against corruption. Today, we see a really powerful work of the NABU, which is demonstrated by the detention of MPs, high-ranking officials, representatives of central authorities, representatives of governing bodies of regional councils," the politician noted.

According to him, the process of cleansing corrupt officials continues, and there are concrete results. He stressed that the parliament is also involved in this work and adopts important draft laws.

"We have recently adopted in the first reading documents related to the fight against corruption. These are anti-corruption laws that strengthen the capacity of our anti-corruption agencies, in particular the NACP, NABU and SAP. According to our friends and partners, they fully meet the current requirements of the EU and the European Commission," the MP said.

He explained that after the final approval of the draft laws, the NACP will be able to check the property acquired by officials before they were appointed to their positions. The NABU will increase its staff of specialists to 1,000 people within three years. The SAP's independence will also be strengthened.
