On 30 November 2023, members of the Committee on Foreign Policy and Interparliamentary Cooperation and the Committee on Law Enforcement paid a working visit to Mykolaiv and held joint meetings and events with the delegation of the Folketing (Parliament) of Denmark headed by the Chairman of the Foreign Policy Council of the Folketing of Denmark, Michael Austrup Jensen.
The busy programme of the working visit included a joint meeting of Ukrainian and Danish parliamentarians, a meeting with the Head of Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration Vitalii Kim and local authorities, visits to destroyed port facilities, a drinking water station, the Danish Refugee Council and a rehabilitation centre, as well as a meeting with representatives of the Danish Red Cross and communication with citizens.
During the working visit, the Ukrainian and Danish parliamentarians got acquainted with the destroyed facilities and discussed the current security and humanitarian situation in Ukraine, in particular in the Mykolaiv region, the future liberation of the occupied territories, strengthening military and technical assistance, economic and humanitarian aid to Ukraine, the possibility of investment and reconstruction of facilities affected by the armed aggression of the russian federation and the investigation of war crimes.
Special attention during the meetings was paid to discussing Ukraine's European and Euro-Atlantic integration and prospects for membership in the European Union and NATO.
The working visit was attended by the MPs of Ukraine, Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Policy and Interparliamentary Cooperation Oleksandr Merezhko, Deputy Chairman of the Committee Arsenii Pushkarenko, members of the Committee Bohdan Yaremenko and Ihor Kryvosheiev, as well as Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Law Enforcement Maksym Pavliuk, Chairman of the Committee's Subcommittee Oleksandr Danutsa, member of the Committee Volodymyr Zakharchenko and member of the Committee on Budget Oleksandr Pasichnyi.
