On January 19, 2023, the Chairman of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Merezhko and the members of the Committee met with the Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Parliament of Sweden Aron Emilsson via video conference. The event was attended by MPs of Ukraine, the Head of the Committee’s Subcommittee Maria Ionova and Committee member Olga Rudenko.
The discussion during the meeting focused on European security, the current security situation in Ukraine and the course of events on the frontline, the humanitarian consequences of the destruction of our country’s energy infrastructure, the role of the OSCE in the peace process, russia’s participation in the Organization and the future of the OSCE, the provision of economic, military and technical assistance, including training for Ukrainian specialists and support in countering russia’s armed aggression.
