On 8 May 2022, Colonel Oleksandr Sergeyev, Commander of the Kharkiv Armed Forces, Serhiy Melnyk, Brigadier General, Chief of the Kharkiv Garrison, Roman Semenukha, Deputy Chairman of the Kharkiv Region Military Administration, and Maria Mezentseva, Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Ukraine's Integration with the European Union, met in Kharkiv with Urmas Reinsalu, former Estonian Defence Minister. The purpose of his visit to Kharkiv and a city in Kharkiv region is to provide both humanitarian aid and the supply of heavy weapons (UAVs, Self-Propelled Artillery, war tanks, etc.) to our Kharkiv defenders.

Parliament members Olena Khomenko, Vadym Halaychuk and Pavlo Sushko also took part in the meeting.
Urmas Reinsalu, Member of the Estonian Riigikogu (Parliament), Rapporteur on Ukraine for the U4U Support Project, former Minister of Defence and Foreign Affairs of Estonia, was accompanied by Mr. Vahur Soosaar, Adviser to the Estonian Ambassador to Ukraine.

"Our colleague was able to make sure that the Ukrainian army is really the best. He talked with the governor, the regional prosecutor, the military, people's deputies and the head of the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kharkiv.
Urmas Reinsalu expressed his conviction: "Supply more weapons for Ukraine that can change the course of this war! We, as partners, have not done enough and now we have to hand over to you all the weapons we have now, because our common future is being decided in Ukraine!” Said Maria Mezentseva.

"Another important topic was the discussion on war crimes. 1,046 criminal cases have been registered in Kharkiv region. Materials for trial are already being prepared for the most horrendous  cases.
An international tribunal must be launched, we will work for that.

As always, they stressed the importance of continuing humanitarian and medical care in our region, "Maria Mezentseva said.
