The Verkhovna Rada Committee on Social Policy and Protection of Veterans' Rights appeals to the United Nations to help prevent casualties among the civilian population of Ukraine in connection with Russia's military aggression and the CLOSE the skies over our country.
The United Nations was established in the last year of World War II primarily to promote international peace and security.
The peoples of the United Nations have declared, in particular, their determination to free future generations from the scourge of war, to reaffirm faith in fundamental human rights, in the dignity and worth of the human person, in the rights of great and small nations, and in promoting social progress and living conditions.
For almost two weeks, the Ukrainian nation has been in dire need of uniting the world's strong nations to maintain peace and security in Ukraine.
The Russian Federation is killing the civilian population of Ukraine and threatening the world with nuclear war.
In Ukraine, more than 50 children have died in the military aggression of the Russian Federation in almost two weeks. Children with cancer do not receive the necessary medical treatment, hundreds of people do not receive medical care and are on the verge of a humanitarian catastrophe.
The number of orphans, people with disabilities and the unemployed is growing among the Ukrainian population. Indigenous peoples are being forced to migrate to neighboring European countries.
Citizens who had freedom, a family, a home, a job, a dream, are forced to receive refugee status.
The cities and villages of the country that has been building its New History for 30 years are turning into ruins.
For more than 75 years, the Charter of the United Nations has been in force, according to which admission to the United Nations is open to all "peace-loving States which will assume the obligations contained in the Charter and which, in the opinion of the Organization, can and will FULFILL THEIR OBLIGATIONS ".
Russia is one of the permanent members of the United Nations. Does this aggressor country adhere to the principles of the Charter of the majestic United Nations, in particular Article 2, paragraph 3, of the Charter, which states: “All Members of the United Nations will settle their international disputes by peaceful means without compromising international peace and security and justice "?
With great respect and faith in peace, dignity and equality on Earth, the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Social Policy and Protection of Veterans' Rights appeals to the United Nations, in accordance with Chapter 1 of the UN Charter, to promote peace in Ukraine, to prevent further casualties among the civilian Ukrainian population and to develop effective collective measures to prevent and eliminate the threat to the whole world and to suppress acts of aggression or other violations of the peace by the Russian Federation.
