Head of the Committee on Foreign Policy and Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Oleksandr Merezhko met with Norwegian Ambassador to Ukraine Eric Swedal.

Head of the Committee Oleksandr Merezhko stressed the importance of developing the strategic nature of relations between Ukraine and Norway and expressed gratitude for the continued support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity. The participants of the meeting discussed the issues of strengthening Ukrainian-Norwegian cooperation in the areas of counteracting Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine, including sanctions against the aggressor state, European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine.

Also, the parties discussed the security situation in eastern Ukraine on the borders with Russia, in the Black and Azov Seas, the threat of hybrid challenges, the prospects of the negotiation process for a peaceful settlement of the situation in Eastern Ukraine.
