Head of the Committee on Foreign Affairs and Interparliamentary Cooperation Olexander Merezhko joined the Statement of President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Council Charles Michel and Secretary General of NATO Jens Stoltenberg on the situation around the Republic of Belarus.

The text of the Statement refers to the actions agreed by Brussels on the settlement of the refugee crisis on the border of the European Union with Belarus and the criteria for a new package of sanctions against the Republic of Belarus.

Based on these criteria, the EU may soon adopt a fifth package of sanctions against official Minsk. Preliminarily, they are expected to include measures for airlines, travel agents and officials who support the smuggling of migrants.
