The draft Law on social protection of medical workers affected by COVID-19 health care facilities of all forms of ownership proposes to extend the provisions of the Law "On Protection of the Population from Infectious Diseases" on insurance benefits in the event of disability or death due to infection with coronavirus COVID-19 in the workplace, medical workers of private health care facilities and employees, as well as medical workers who work as self-employed persons.
In addition, it is proposed to renew the right of health workers of private health care facilities or their relatives, if they have not yet received adequate insurance benefits due to a gap in the legislation.
The Committee
decided to recommend to the Verkhovna Rada to include the draft Law in the
agenda of the session and, based on the results of the consideration in the
first reading, to adopt it as a basis and in general.
